Listen To: The Kellner Family Train Garden

You can find many model train gardens in Maryland basements this time of year. We found one in the Kellner family basement in Fallston , Maryland . Jerry Kellner made sure he got his Bavarian grandparents' old Lionel trains from the 1940s. They are still running along with many more he has added over the years.

Since Jerry's son, Brian, was born in the 1960s they have always made time just after Thanksgiving to set up the trains. From one 4x8 sheet of plywood to now 4 sheets, the basement is overtaken by trains, Christmas scenes, and memories each year. From city scenes to mountainsides, Jerry says “you can hear the train coming!” Now his grand daughter Abigail is learning the controls to carry on the family tradition.

Jerry says he loves letting the little ones press the buttons so he can watch their faces light up! Jerry has his choo choo hat on again this year wishing all a Merry Christmas from Fallston , Maryland
