Listen To: Michael Phelps TGI-Christmas

The man who captured a record 8 Olympic gold medals at the 2008 Summer Olympics prefers a low-key Christmas. Michael Phelps plans to spend Christmas with his family in the Baltimore area as he recalls his whirlwind year. Michael is still riding high from his welcome home celebration in the Baltimore area after the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

Asked if Christmas will ever be the same for him, Michael says it will always be about being with his family. He plans to continue a tradition started years ago to have Christmas Eve dinner with his mom and sisters at TGI-Fridays. He says Why not? However, Michael says he does plan to break a Christmas tradition. No swimming on Christmas Day this year!

At right, Michael Phelps addresses the media after a long day to celebrate his return home from the summer games. By the way, if you want to know what to buy Michael for Christmas, any video game will do. He says it's how he relaxes.
